Biscayne National park offers many fun and exciting things to do. Such as swim, fish, snorkel, or scuba dive. It has over 150,00 acres to have fun. Biscayne National Park is unique because 93% is under water. All in all you will have a great time.

Location/Size/Distance



Biscayne National Park is located in Florida. It covers about 181,000 500 acres. It is a big National Park in comparison to other national such as Bryce Canyon National Park. It covers 1632.28 miles from Iowa.

Park Hours



The Water portion of Biscayne is open 24/7 for your convenience. The Convoy Point Visitor Center is open daily from 7:00a.m. to 5:30 a.m. The Dante Fascell Visitor Center is open daily from 9:00a.m. to 5:00 pm.

Climate



The weather is always pretty warm in Biscayne National Park because Biscayne is in Florida. The lowest temperature in Biscayne in winter is about 74ºF and the highest is around 76ºF. The temperatures range from 64-72ºF in the spring. The temperatures range from 86-88ºF in the summer. The temperatures range from 67-76ºF in the fall. Doesn't rain much.

History



Biscayne became a national park on June 28, 1980 with the help of president Jimmy Carter. The oldest know people to live in Biscayne were the Tequesta Indians, which fished or hunted to live. During the 1800’s to the mid 1900’s. In 1895 said that it was quote “One of the finest bodies of water on the Coast of Florida.


Interesting facts



There are many interesting facts about Biscayne one is that 95% of Biscayne is under water. Another interesting fact is that in 2001 scientists found a rare cactus in Biscayne. And my final fact is that Convoy Point is rated one of the best places to surf in Florida.


Things to see In Biscayne



You can see many things in Biscayne. One thing is that you can see sea turtles which are under water or by chance you might see a mother sea turtle covering her eggs on the beach. You might also see a dolphin or two swimming gracefully in the ocean. You could also see the Boca Chita Light house.


Things to do


There are many things to in Biscayne National Park. For example you can fish. You can also swim or surf in the Ocean. You can also snorkel.
