Great Smoky Mountain National Park has plenty of activities for children and adults.
When you go to the national park you can visit animals and forest and possibly see red wolves and bears.


The Great Smoky Mountains is located between North Carolina and Tennessee. The size 521621.15 acres from my home town ( Oskaloosa IA) it's 847.09 miles away.

Park Hours

The national park is open 365 days a year. The visitor center is open December and January from 9 am to 4:30 pm.

February and November from 9 am to 5 pm. March, September, and October from 9 am to 6 pm, and April through August is open 9 am 7 pm.


In the Winter the temperatures are 50s or more is the high and the low is - 22 and the precipitation is 4.7.
In Spring in the beginning is about 61 degrees for the high and 41 degrees for the low and in the mid April is 70s and 80s and the precipitation is 4.7666667.
In the Summer in the afternoon high is about 90s and the low is about 60s and 70s and the precipitation is 5.4.
In the Fall daytime usually is 70s and 80s, in the early November its 50s and 60s and the precipitation is 3.1666667.


The 20th century was when the Great Smoky Mountain National Park became a national park.
David Chapman and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt helped make it become a national park.
The history about this park is that 1000 slaves were working on the Cherokee plantation.


The money was raised by individuals, private groups, and even school children that pledge their pennies to buy the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. 8 million to 10 million people visit the national park every year making it the most visited National Park in its country. Right now scientist think we only know about 17 percent of plants and animals that live in the park.

You could go fishing, go see waterfalls which is nearly in every river, hiking which you can choose over 800miles of trails ranging from quiet walk ways.
